Hello, the engine 1.0 TSI is ok, reliable with good fuel consumption.
The problem could be with DSG, it is version with "dry" clutch so you must count with "refurbishment"after cca 120-150 tousend km. It costs about 1500-2000Eu then.
Second problem of Rapid is chassis - not quite solid, so after cca 80-100 thousands km you will have to change some parts.
And last third problem is air conditioning compressor SANDEN, which is not good quality and can break at any time But during the warranty period, it will be replaced free of charge by the more cavitable DENSO.

If you like VW cars I strongly recommend you VW Polo, the same engine and the manual gear box, of course if needed automic then you have to take DSG.Polo has better parts and interior. You will not make a mistake with this car.
But if you fall in love to Rapid then yes it is not bad car just only you must cout with some fixes during the usages

Hello, I have Rapid 1.2 TSI and my friends have the same with 1.0 TSI. I had also the last version of Rapid 2019 1.0 TSI with FAP filter for a week so I can compare these.
I can say - the 1.0 TSI is really fine engine, take the most powerfull 8x kw version because of it has dual mass flywheel which eliminates the vibrations.
Maybe you want the Rapid liftback where trunk is really big so I understand that VW Polo is not enought for you...
Regarding the DSG, I wanted to buy it but even dealer say me like friend that there will be needed to do repase after cca 120 000km and owners on Skoda Forum can confirm that. But you can consider that 1500 eu is not much for "comfort", i can understand that.

Ahojte, máš pravdu, ja vyskúšal 1.0 70kw vo F3 vrámci servisu mojej Rapidečky, ten motor vo F je tak akurát ale v rapidke nuž neviem,mal aj zmiešané pocíty s toho motora, totiž bolo ho treba točiť nad dvetisíc otačok ináč bol nemástný neslany, ale musím podotknúť že ten motor bol surový ak si pamätám mal cca 500 km, ja mám 1.2 66kw 2015 ročník u mňa spokojnosť až na pár vecí ktoré sa vždy nájde, má aj jeden neduch, totiž keď sa idem rozbiehať v tiahlom kopčeku ako keby bol pridusený ono rozbeh na jedničke je ok ale jak preradím na dvojku tak tam nastáva to malé pri dusenie a verte že som skúšal čokoľvek i vytočil do vyšších otačok ale jak sa preradí nuž musel zvyknúť , ten 1.0 85kw v Octavii som neskúšal ale čo čítal a vydel testy tak to porovnávajú so staršou 1.6 mpi
